The T-Mobile G1 is to be presented to the world today in New York but leaks from the official website dedicated to unveil Android smartphone already plenty of information.

It is the site Tmonews which published photos in the first official Android smartphone manufactured by HTC: they confirm the photos “stolen” from a terminal supposed to be G1, released a few days ago: G1 is a terminal with a large touchscreen and a sliding full keyboard.

The site also provides the main features of the machine compatible with the networks 3G mobile broadband, it weighs 159 g and measuring 116 x 54 x 16 mm (one template very close to the HTC Touch Pro). Its touch screen displays 65 536 colors for a resolution HVGA (480 x 320 pixels). G1 integrates well a GPS receiver and a photo sensor three million pixels. Storage side, it is certainly a memory card slot (up to 8 GB capacity). The manufacturer announces 5 hours of communication and 130 hours of standby time.

Among the shortcomings already identified include lack of support for Bluetooth stereo (what we already knew) and video recording, as some Apple iPhone 3G.

The operator T-Mobile G1 will market its 3G coverage areas in the United States at the same price as the iPhone 16 GB subscription, and will require that the customer has a Gmail account to acquire the G1. T-Mobile Google promises a complete experience, with a one-click access to various Internet applications: Maps (with the traffic and function Street View), Gmail messaging service, video sharing YouTube, Calendar and the VoIP communication service Google Talk. The mention of Google Talk is surprising, since developers of the mobile platform had warned several weeks ago that they would not be able to incorporate this feature in time for the first version of Android.
